A Trip Out East and Alpacas

Kim and I went to Massachusetts recently to visit her family, and celebrate Kim's birthday.  We were spoiled with all the seafood we could eat!!..Tuna, Lobster, Clam "Chowdah"!...But our weekend did not only consist of birthday celebrations and good eatin'.  On our last day of our short weekend trip, we visited their family friend, who's parents raise Alpacas.
Alpacas look similar to Llamas, but are smaller in size.  They only weigh up to about 175lbs, where as a Llama can weigh up to 500lbs!  One interesting fact I learned on our visit is that Alpacas have no natural defense!  How much would that suck?! (well they do know how to spit, so don't get too close).  Luckily these Alpacas don't live in the wild, instead they're living the good life in South Dartmouth, MA.  Below are a few pics I snapped of these weird, but fluffy creatures...

Above: Sweet Hairdo!

Above: Kim's mom, Vicki, trying get close to the Alapcas.

Above: Curious of my camera.

Above:  Well this isn't an Alpaca...His name is Goliath and he is the newest member of their family!

Hope you enjoyed..See you soon!

Fall Colors In Breckenridge, CO 2010

Here are some photos I took in Breckenridge a couple weeks ago.  The colors of the Aspen's were unbelievable.  It is definately worth a small roadtrip to get over to Breck and witness it first hand.  Although a beautiful sight, these colors don't last very long.  There is about a 2-3 week window, before the leaves start disappearing.

ABOVE:   Off of Illinois Gulch Rd.  An old wooden fence surrounded by Aspens.

ABOVE:  I took this photo wandering around on the Shock Hill Trail.  I almost got taken out by a mountain biker....Shouldn't they have a bell or something?

ABOVE:  Old debri from mining days with Aspens and mountains in the background.

ABOVE:  An old beer can I found while hiking.  I guess PBR has always been a tradition here in Breckenridge!

ABOVE:  Breck Gondola.  The clouds are so low you can't even see the mountains!

ABOVE:  Another shot of Breck's Gondola.  Looking up from the parking lot.

ABOVE:  A picture I snapped on my way home. Leaves Changing Color, Mountains, Snow, Sunset...I love this place!

ABOVE:  Last but not least...Bill on a moped!

Well I hope you enjoyed my pictures.  Check back soon for more!
